City-Wide Meeting February 2016

Due to the snowstorm on President’s Day our second city-wide community meeting originally scheduled for February 15, 2016 was changed to February 29, 2016. After holding our first meeting in the central part of Baltimore we moved to First Mount Calvary Baptist Church at 1142 N. Fulton Ave located on the west side of the city. RENEW’s objective is to have meetings throughout Baltimore.

During the first hour of the meeting we distributed the results from a survey we took at the conclusion of our October 26th meeting.

We also provided an update on the progress that we have made since our first meeting on October 26, 2015.

  • We have created four committees: Policy, Media & Outreach, Meeting/Event Planning and Structure
  • We have established a name for our organization: Baltimore Residents Engaged in Neighborhood Empowerment and Well-Being (RENEW), Inc. trading as Baltimore RENEW.
  • We have created a logo
  • We have a website address: BaltimoreRENEW.org (though it is still under construction.)

During the meeting’s second hour Robin Jacobs from the Community Law Center gave a presentation entitled Addressing Nuisances in Your Neighborhood.

Our next city-wide meeting is tentatively scheduled for May 9th but the location has not yet been determined.
